The Easter Show Wine Awards has the honour of being New Zealand's oldest wine competition celebrating the countries finest wines, winemakers, and winery's for over 60 years. The Easter Show is slightly different to the rest of the countries wine competitions in that it runs out of the 'normal show season' at the beginning of the year just before Easter. The timing of the show is particular relevant, as it is the first show available for those aged wines of the previous vintage to come out and show themselves off. The Easter Show Wine Awards is a purely non profit association utilizing the talents of international judges, winemakers, wine writers, and wine retailers to judge each wine experience and also incorporates those dedicated individuals inducted into New Zealand's Wine Hall of Fame.
