Angove McLaren Vale Shiraz 2018

McLaren Vale, Australia
BBQ - Red MeatsLamb
  • Magnificent McLaren Vale in all its glory
  • From Angove Family Winemakers, one of the most respected and oldest wine families in Australia with two out the five generations being awarded the Order of Australia for wine services.
  • The Family Crest Shiraz is Angove's house style, championing the vines of Mclaren Vale through old school winemaking and new school vegan friendly thinking.
  • Case of 6 ($23.90/bottle)
As one of the original wine families in South Australia the Angove family have spent over 100 years learning how to get the best out of South Australia vines, Now legends in the Australian winemaking scene the 2nd and 3rd generation Angoves were awarded the Order of Australia for their services to Winemaking. In the beginning (1886) it was Doc Angove who first planted in Tea Tree Gully. His son 'Skipper' set up one of the first wineries in Renmark and his son Tom who expanded into McLaren Vale. Now its the Angove siblings of Victoria, Sophie and Richard taking the reins. Much like the Angove family, the Angove Family Crest Shiraz is sourced from throughout the McLaren Vale region. These grapes are made in one of the oldest parts of the winery - the old school way. Crushed in 70 year old concrete vats before a natural wild ferment then its into the traditional wooden basket presses. After which the Shiraz is left to age in French Oak puncheons and hogsheads (oversize barrels). The entire process is vegan friendly and finishes with a vibrant and delicious dark berry Shiraz full of rich chocolate, liquorice and spice. A standout drop that represents McLaren Vale with full gusto.

Te Mata Awatea 2022

Te Mata Awatea 2022

Hawke's Bay, New Zealand
  • The little bro of the iconic Coleraine
  • But compared with it's big brother, Awatea is a positive bargin at half the price and is an experience to remember.
  • The 2020 vintage gave the Awatea intense powerful characters with a persistance tannin structure to give it life after the recommended cellaring time of 8-10 years. This intense claret experience welcomes you in with concentrated plums, blackcurrants, and blackberries. After which the warm reception extends into fine tannins with characters of chocolate, baked cedar, a savoury liquorice.

  • The magnificent Saddleback (bird) was once on the verge of extinction but thanks to the likes of the Wingspan Trust, DOC and sponsors like Peregrine this magnificent creature is back. The same can't be said for this Saddleback (wine) which is flying out the door. Catch it while you can!
