Wooing Tree vineyards excel at making Pinot Noir grapes into all sorts of amorous experiences - from the light & cheeky Rose and Blondie to the more serious Beetlejuice and the flagship Pinot Noir. A select few grapes however are put aside to create Wooing Tree's ultimate Pinot Noir - the whirlwind experience that is the 'Sandstorm Reserve'. Aptly named from experiences with New Zealands only inland sand dune habitat of Cromwell. Before the vine roots took hold in the Wooing Tree vineyard during the strong NW winds sandstorms would ravage the sandy vineyard. It is from these hardy initial plantings Peter Bartle (winemaker) would select the chosen few grapes to craft the Reserve. Sandstorm Reserve is nothing short of breathtaking with its exquisite fruit flavours, complexed personality and powerful structure, this is definitely one sandstorm you want to get caught up in.
